The proportion of single households among non-campers is 23%. The average number of persons living in a household is 2.5. 43% have some form of tertiary education.
The most popular form of vacation for the last five years are charter and holidays in the sun. After that it is road trips, city breaks or ski vacation which are the most popular forms of holiday. 40% have access to or own a cottage, and this group also spend parts of their vacation time in summer cottages.
11% of non-campers didn´t travel at all in 2005. Those who traveled spent more than half of the time in Sweden and 28% elsewhere in Europe (excluding Scandinavia). Most households spend over 20 000 SEK per year on vacations.

He / she has limited finances and often dressed in tracksuit, likes a simply outdoor life and spending time with family and friends. " This description is how the campers describe themselves.
When non-campers make associations with camping at campsite are 28% negative, 13% positive and the remaining 59% have neutral associations. Caravans and tents are the two things that are most strongly associated with camping in the campground. Few mention other forms of housing such as motorhome, trailerlodge and cottage.
Most agree that camping in the campground is a great way to get close to nature, that camping is free, and is a social and inexpensive way to spend their holiday. However, opinions differ as to the degree of cosiness and whether camping is relaxing, smooth and safe.

When asked if they're willing to buy a mobile resident 31% were positive. Motorhome is the most popular, but many see the price as a barrier. 22% of the non-campers have rented a caravan, motorhome or trailerlodge and 48% are willing to hire any of the three mobile homes.
